Synopsis:

This introspective, sensual character study follows a young doctor poised between innocence and adulthood. Verônica lives for two things: carnal pleasures and the love of her ailing father. Brazilian director Miguel Gomes’ sensitive treatment of his heroine’s dilemma asks what needs to be let go of in order to hold onto what is most desired.
