Long Live The Antipodes!
Viktor Kossakovsky was born in Leningrad. He began working at the Leningrad Documentary Studio while still in his teens and later completed Moscow’s Higher Courses of Film Writers and Directors. His films include Belovy (1994), Sreda (1997), I Loved You (2000), Russia From My Window (2003), Hush! (2003) and ¡Vivan las antipodas! (2011).

Antipodes are human populations that have sprung up on exact opposite ends of our planet. The aptly titled ¡Vivan las antipodas!, is a poetic, fascinating and relentlessly spectacular travelogue, a celebration of this rare phenomenon—rare because so much of the Earth is covered in water—and of the dizzying diversity of life itself.
